Spring break, adventures, and back to flower blooms

This break, we ventured north of CA to Orick. We had five days between the weekends, and we found a place in the middle of the field, which was supposed to have a really good night sky and be within walking distance of the nearby beach. Bingo!

Traveling 5 hours in the car with the kids is also getting easier. Omg, it's the first time we could do it with one-stop, and they all had enough patience (and snacks/games/etc.) to survive the road, which was beautiful by itself. I love driving 101North. I love watching the changing scenery.

It was a tranquil place. We arrived in the afternoon and drove to see the sunset later. The house had ping pong and foosball and a great collection of board games. Thinking back, i didn't take a single picture of us playing together. Why? Maybe we were all so involved in the process.

I realized once again that I always need a plan. I feel that after so many years, we traded places with Utkarsh. Nowadays, I need a calendar, a plan, and a list of places, and he can just get up and say, 'Let's go.' Maybe it's a habit you get while managing kids and their schedules, plus all other calendar stuff. We had some laughs about that also.

I also reflected that in my business, I love to have a custom plan for the sessions, too (preferably plan B also). I was asking myself: "why", and the answer from the heart was: because i care. I care a lot about all of us having a great experience. That's why we plan the place where we go or where we take pictures. I have a lot of advice on what to do, wear, etc. And at the same time, my main advice is: to relax during the session and connect. We did what we could to prepare! That's hard sometimes.

We went on a beautiful hike with lots of ferns and walked in the water. The kids loved it. But you know what they remembered the most from that day? Pizza from the truck, which we got on the way back! It was yummy pizza, by the way!

A good part was that we were off-season and on weekdays, so we didn't need to get permits, and most of the hikes and beaches were pretty empty.

Redwoods look majestic in fog and rain. We experienced that the day before we had to leave, and it's my personal favorite. I hope we can make it back in summer.

p.s. all trip images shared are from my phone. I haven't got time to edit the ones from the camera!

When we got back, I had sessions all day on Saturday! I'm so happy to have been able to capture cherry blossoms, our own redwoods, and a gorgeous sunset! And I got to meet my amazing families!

Cherry Bloom is there a few more days, so text me if you want a weekday session. Or if your family is in town for Easter.

My summer calendar is also filling in!

See you soon!
